Job Description:

 

As a Professional Services Consultant (PSC) you will provide deployment, configuration, and operational services for our customers relating to Palo Alto Networks products. You will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) teaming with a Project Manager to interact directly with the customer’s project team to facilitate the consumption and adoption of our products and capabilities. During the execution of each project you will also utilize soft skills to guide the customer to make decisions on how to use our products in a way consistent with our best practices and make them more secure. The PSC contributes to the internal Professional Services team in the development of new principles and concepts, works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. This is a highly technical, hands-on role and you will be required to develop and maintain an expertise on the Palo Alto Network products and solutions commensurate with your skillset, goals and in collaboration with your manager.

 

Job Role & Responsibilities

  • Ensure client needs are met and deliverables produced on time according to specified project deliverables/scope
  • Assist the customer to deploy, optimize and operationalize our NGFW security solutions into their networks
  • Provide guidance to our customers on how to integrate our products into their operational workflows and networks following best practice-based methodologies
  • Proactively identify and communicate project status, risks and issues with the Professional Services Project Manager
  • Interact with TAC to troubleshoot and diagnose support cases
  • Ability to document and template necessary documentation packages for customers as defined
  • Ability to work on a team or lead a team depending upon the specified project
  • Ability to provide complex solutions in customer environments and execute/document said solutions by self or as a team leader
  • Other tasks and duties as needed to support the customer and/or business

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with enterprise security products, solutions, and technologies
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing security solutions in large environments
  • Strong knowledge of the enterprise security threat landscape
  • Strong understanding of Internet protocols and applications
  • Detailed technical experience in the deployment, configuration, troubleshooting and operations of high-end firewall appliances, ideally Palo Alto Networks products
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally.
  • Aptitude to effectively juggle and manage many different tasks simultaneously
  • MS Project or similar tools
  • Scripting experience – Python, Bash
  • Demonstrated project leadership skill
  • Relevant industry certifications such as PCNSE, CISSP, CCNA, CNSE, JNCIE-SEC
  • BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent education/training/experience
