The client is a dynamic Silicon Valley startup, that specializes in real-time data transfer processes. Their platform enables customers to easily configure data sources, specify formats, and seamlessly synchronize data with their applications.
Client Background
The client is a dynamic Silicon Valley startup, that specializes in real-time data transfer processes. Their platform enables customers to easily configure data sources, specify formats, and seamlessly synchronize data with their applications.
Challenges
Trantor partnered with the client to address existing issues and enhance the platform with new features. The key challenges were as follows:
- 1. Backend Dominance: The platform heavily relied on backend processes, requiring bug fixes and the development of new modules to strengthen the UI layer.
- 2. Connector Optimization: The client’s connector layer needed optimization, and the development of new connectors for various data sources was necessary.
- 3. Identifying and Addressing Process Gaps: Trantor aimed to identify and rectify any gaps in the existing processes.
Team Structure
To overcome these challenges, the following team structure was established:
- 1 Product Manager
- 3 Connector Team members
- 2 Frontend Development Team members
Technology Used
The project leveraged the following technologies:
- Connector: RESTful Web Services, Microservices, SpringBoot, Java 8
- UI Layer: React.js, Material-UI, Cypress, React Testing Library, HTML, CSS
Solution Approach
Trantor adopted a systematic approach to address the challenges and enhance the platform:
- 1. Analysis and Research: Trantor’s expertise team conducted thorough research on the platform, analyzed the existing codebase of connectors, and engaged with stakeholders to understand the platform’s intricacies and identify gaps.
- 2. Best Practices and Recommendations: Based on the initial understanding and gap analysis, Trantor provided recommendations, including best practices for connector and frontend development, technology and tool inclusions, and more.
- 3. Dedicated Teams: Trantor formed two dedicated teams – Frontend Team and Connector Team – to execute the required improvements.
- Frontend Team focused on resolving bugs, introducing new features such as auto-clean and safe page navigation, integrating with Hubspot, enhancing the data transformation flow aesthetics, and implementing new visualizations.
- Connector Team worked on optimizing the existing connectors and expanding the platform’s reach by developing connectors for additional data sources, such as Gsheets and Airtable.
Key Benefits
The implementation of Trantor’s solution brought significant benefits to the client:
- 1. Expanded Connector System: The platform’s connector system witnessed an impressive year-on-year growth of 140% in supporting new data sources.
- 2. Accelerated Feature Development: Through effective research, planning, and development estimation processes, the turnaround time for implementing new features improved by 65%.
- 3. High-Quality Connectors: Trantor’s enhancements resulted in improved connector performance, ensuring high-quality data transfer and synchronization.
By partnering with Trantor, the client successfully addressed existing issues, optimized their connector layer, and achieved an enhanced front-end experience.
